Alasdair Stephen

Managing Director

After graduating from Strathclyde University with an honours degree in architecture, Alasdair continued his education at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, the Gaelic college on the Isle of Skye. It was during this course in business studies and communications that he set up Dualchas Architects with his twin brother Neil.

Subsequently, Alasdair founded HebHomes with his brother Neil and former director Donald John MacLennan. Alasdair has led HebHomes since 2010, growing the company with help from his talented and dedicated team of staff.

Neil Stephen RIAS

Director

Neil co-founded Dualchas Architects with his twin brother Alasdair in 1996. A graduate of the Mackintosh School of Architecture, he helped shape the practice through his early research into Highland housing, developing an approach that draws on the region’s landscape, culture and building traditions.

As Design Director at Dualchas, Neil oversees design across the practice, paying close attention to the setting of each project and the relationship between a building and its surroundings. His projects include the RIAS Award-winning house at Boreraig, alongside homes, tourism buildings and larger developments.

Neil has helped build Dualchas’s reputation in contemporary rural architecture. The practice’s work has been exhibited at the National Museum of Scotland and V&A Dundee, and at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2023.

As a co-founder and director of HebHomes, Neil brings this experience to the ambition of making thoughtful, high-quality architecture available to a wider audience through architect-designed timber kit homes.

Fraser Stewart

Operations Director

After studying architecture at the Glasgow School of Art, Fraser’s focus became sustainable, high-end residential architecture in rural parts of the UK. He worked with Dualchas Architects on the Isle of Skye before completing his studies at university. Prior to joining HebHomes, Fraser was a director of a Glasgow-based architectural start-up which focused on extensions and alterations to people’s homes.

Fraser now specialises in architectural business management, helping to deliver high-quality projects across the UK with his talented project management team. He is responsible for the day-to-day running of HebHomes, as well as overall company strategy and service quality. He oversees the full client journey and makes sure that projects get to site smoothly.

Lynsey Foley

Associate / Sales + Marketing Manager

Lynsey graduated with a BA in corporate communications from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh and worked as an agency accounts manager at the Scottish Media Group before serving in senior sales positions at the Herald, the Daily Mail and Radio Clyde.

She joined HebHomes in 2011 and is in charge of coordinating sales for a fast-growing company. She also plays a key role in media communications and events organisation.

Lewis Hutchison RIAS

Architect & Senior Project Manager

Lewis trained at Strathclyde University School of Architecture in Glasgow where he achieved a master’s degree in Advanced Architectural Design. 

He has a keen interest in rural housing and worked for various practices during his studies such as Jewitt & Wilkie Architects and CRGP Ltd. For six years he worked at JM Architects in Edinburgh, during which he was involved in many large-scale projects across various sectors, including education, student accommodation and residential.

Lewis joined HebHomes in September 2020 and has been a fully qualified architect for several years and brings this excellent experience to his role as a senior project manager. 

Jake Hagan

Senior Architectural Technologist

After studying architectural technology at the University of Brighton, Jake gained five years of experience in the new-build residential sector in London, where he worked on several large-scale projects with varying degrees of complexity.

In addition to his primary role, Jake contributed to the computational design team, developing knowledge and skills in parametric design, coding, and automation.

Driven by a desire to apply his skills and knowledge to more sustainable and considered design practices, he joined HebHomes in October 2023. Since then, he has been assisting the team in developing their standard detail library and in-house delivery workflows.

Mia Delnevo Stevens

Technical Manager

Mia is an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist and Project Lead with over 11 years’ post-HND experience across residential, education, commercial, leisure and industrial projects. She brings strong technical knowledge, BIM expertise and project management experience to the HebHomes team, supporting projects from early design through to detailed technical delivery. Mia has led major residential and public-sector schemes, including housing developments, school projects, retrofit works and community buildings. She is passionate about creating clear, well-coordinated models and drawings that make the design and construction process smoother for clients, consultants and contractors.

Sharon Clayton

Finance Manager

After relocating from Lancashire to the Isle of Skye, Sharon started working for HebHomes and Dualchas Architects in 2011.

Sharon previously worked for a construction cost and project management company in Manchester city centre.

Sharon is responsible for accounting and finance, where her accuracy and attention to detail are highly valued.

Craig Stephen

Director

Craig has over two decades’ experience in finance  as an investment analyst, corporate advisor and investor.  He began his career working for Cresvale Securities in Hong Kong and is currently Investment Director of MediaCap, an Australian media-for-equity fund.

Craig is the brother of Neil and Alasdair and brings his wealth of knowledge working with growth companies to advise on international business expansion, funding and strategy.  He has an economics degree with honours from the University of Strathclyde and joined the board of HebHomes in 2019.

Alexandra Adams

Project Manager & Architectural Designer

After graduating with first-class honours, Ali completed a Master of Architecture from the University of Strathclyde in 2020. Her research into zero-carbon construction materials won her the Glasgow Institute of Architects Award and Royal Scottish Academy New Contemporaries award.

Ali previously worked with Comprehensive Design Architects in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, gaining experience of commercial developments as well as refurbishments of listed buildings.

Continuing her research into sustainable construction practices, Ali joined HebHomes in 2021, quickly establishing herself as a key member of staff. Within the team she is a talented project manager, delivering high-quality designs and guiding clients throughout their build.

Rebecca Irving RIAS

Architect & Senior Project Manager

Rebecca completed her Master of Architecture in 2021 after graduating with first-class honours from the University of Strathclyde. Her master’s projects focused on the role of feminism in architecture; a topic which she continues to pursue. She completed her professional accreditation in 2023.

An organised and skilled designer, Rebecca is a project manager and architect at HebHomes. She is responsible for guiding clients throughout the duration of their projects and for providing assistance on internal design coordination. 

Charles Tulley ARB

Architect & Project Manager

Charles trained in both Interior & Spatial Design and Architecture, giving him a strong grounding in spatial quality, materiality and visual communication. He has worked on a wide range of residential, heritage and community-focused projects across Scotland, including sensitive rural and island sites, guiding schemes from early concept through planning and technical delivery. At HebHomes, Charles brings a thoughtful, methodical approach to design, with a particular focus on clarity, buildability and creating buildings that sit comfortably within their landscape and are a pleasure to live in.

Ami Coulter

Project Manager & Architectural Designer

Ami is a Part 2 Architectural Designer who completed her master’s degree in architecture at the University of Strathclyde, including an exchange at VUT in Brno, Czech Republic. She shares HebHomes’ commitment to responding carefully to environmental and contextual considerations and using resources responsibly. Her experience spans new-build commercial and renovation projects, as well as marine design project management. 

As a project manager and architectural designer, Ami considers projects holistically, identifying potential challenges and practical solutions. Her detail-oriented approach supports meticulous and consistent design work. 

Billy Caparoso

Architectural Technologist

Billy is a seasoned Architectural Technologist, holding a BSc (Hons) in Architectural Technology from Edinburgh Napier University.

Before joining HebHomes, Billy developed his skills across a wide range of projects, from bespoke home extensions and contemporary new builds to large-scale housing developments.

At HebHomes, Billy uses his technical knowledge and Revit expertise to streamline project workflows and develop the company’s standard details.

Martin Kivlehan

Project Manager & Architectural Designer

Martin joined HebHomes in 2025 as a Junior Project Manager. A graduate of the University of Strathclyde with both a BSc (Hons) in Architectural Studies and a Master’s in Advanced Architectural Design, he has built strong experience in residential design through his work with practices in Glasgow and Strathaven. Martin is enthusiastic about the built environment and brings a keen eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and a commitment to client service to his role at HebHomes.

Angela Milne

Senior Administrator

Angela brings experience in project administration, office management, finance and client enquiries. She works closely with directors and architectural teams, helping coordinate the day-to-day administration that supports project delivery.

Katie McInnes

Social Media Curator

Katie promotes HebHomes through social media, curating photography, film and project stories to share our homes and design approach with a wider audience.

A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art with a BA (Hons) in Textile Design, Katie brings a strong visual sensibility to her work, presenting projects from design and construction through to completion.
