Best House in Scotland

A house designed by HebHomes’ sister company, Dualchas Architects, has won the award for best residential house in Scotland at the annual Scottish Design Awards. The house at Boreraig on the Isle of Skye was praised for its striking interiors and beautifully landscaped setting. Designed by HebHomes director Neil Stephen, it is an abstract interpretation of the Hebridean blackhouse, reflecting the crofting background of the client’s family and his own Buddhism.

Neil said: “This award recognises an excellent client who was willing to embrace our ideas and did not compromise on quality. The result is special, and I am delighted that both modern architecture and the Highlands’ traditional built form have been honoured.”

The house has also been shortlisted for the RIAS Awards.
